Natalie Portman’s body double for her role in the Black Swan has spoken out as she feels that she hasn’t been given nearly enough credit for her part in the Oscar winning film. Sarah Lane of the American Ballet Theatre was Natalie Portman’s body double for the movie but now she’s saying she’s the victim of a “cover up”. Lane is claiming that in scenes which show Portman performing complicated dance moves it is actually Portman’s face digitally added to her body. Lane chose to speak out after comments by Portman’s fiancé, choreographer Benjamin Millepied ;
“85 percent of that movie is Natalie.”
But Lane said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly;
“Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me.”
Lane has also made her concerns clear in an interview with the Wall Street Journal;
“I do want people to know that you cannot absolutely become a professional ballet dancer in a year and a half no matter how hard you work,” she says. “I’ve been doing this for 22 years.”
So far Natalie hasn’t commented on these latest reports. But when Black Swan was released Natalie Portman referred to the fact that she had a body double, she did not try to take all the credit.
